Penn State offers an online master’s degree program in GIS. Students can earn the 110credit certificate in GIS in one year by successfully completing three required courses and one elective. Those credits can be applied to the 35-credit master’s degree, which can be earned by part-time students in three years by taking one course at a time and four courses per year.

The Virginia Geospatial Academy was developed by the Virginia Geospatial Extension Program, a partnership between the Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) and Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) to provide “one stop shopping” for geospatial (i.e. GIS, GPS, and/or remote sensing) training opportunities being held in Virginia.
